With the advances of technology we all want to make the most of the innovations on the market and for the elderly and mobility sufferers there are an increasing number of household electrical aids that are simply perfect for everyday life.

Household electrical aids that are safe and easy to use are like gold dust for mobility sufferers, who simply want an efficient way to accomplish simple tasks with reduced physical strain.

In fact it is not just patients with physical mobility issues that require household aids, with products tailored to partially sighted patients such as the Amplicom PowerTel Mobile M5000U Mobile Phone. This mobile handset with big screen display, buttons and extra loud ring tones is perfect for customers who struggle to reach a wired telephone. The handset works with either a Pay As You Go or Pay Monthly SIM card, allowing users to plug slot it in and make calls and text messages immediately. The handset has enough battery charge for up to 120 minutes’ talk-time and can store three short dial numbers which can dial out at the touch of a single button – ideal for emergencies.

Customers that have difficulty hearing a standard telephone ring whilst upstairs or in the garden should also consider a Plug-in Telephone Amplifier, which allows you to hear the telephone ring tone in virtually any room in the house. The product requires no setup or wiring and can just plug in and work instantly.

Although electrical blackouts are now very few and far between in this country, it is important to have backup plans in the case of mobility impaired and elderly customers. A Safe-T-Light is an all-in-one power failure and night light device which is also fitted with a detachable torch suitable for home use. The Safe-T-Light provides low level lighting in hallways and landings to assist in preventing accidents. Meanwhile in electrical blackouts it provides emergency light for up to 8 hours.

While these household electrical aids may seem trivial, they are exceedingly useful in difficult situations and are everyday products that should not be taken for granted.

Electricity has become our indispensable requirement and so are the electrical products. Electrical products available today range from the most conventional or basic power accessories to the advanced electrical devices.

Electrical accessories and products are required for wiring, electrifying, monitoring, hazard prevention, and other such purposes. All these products, whether they perform a simple or complex function, are important at their place. Some of these products are as mentioned below:

1) Cable: It is the most basic and the most relevant electric accessory. The cable can be defined as a set of wires usually made of copper or aluminum that is covered in an insulation or sheath, used for transferring the electrical current from one place to another. Some cables also consists of optical fibers that are meant for internet connectivity purposes.

2) Switchgear: Switchgear is a somewhat sophisticated electrical device. It is a kind of distribution device used for converting the incoming current into various smaller circuits. They are also used as circuit breakers for providing overload protection. Switchgear vary according to several parameters like mounting style, number of panels, and other miscellaneous technical specifications.

3) Switch: Again, the electrical switch is a simple, still fundamental electrical device. The basic function performed by a switch is to change the course of an electric circuit. Switches are of various types like general and power switches.

4) Socket: Socket is a device which allows us to connect the various electrical appliances and equipment to the main power supply. The pins of the plug of the electronic appliance are inserted in the slots of the socket, from where they receive the required current.

5) Cord: It is a kind of flexible and insulated cable which have a plug on one or both ends. Its basic function is to connect an electrical equipment with the power source. Cords are of various types like extension cords, AC power cords, and DC power cords.
